Chương 88 - The Golden Anniversary of Kindness

As the years flowed by like a gentle river, the Vance estate remained an enduring symbol of grace, charity, and unwavering loyalty.
It was a special milestone—the tenth anniversary of the rainy Tuesday afternoon when a starving teenager in taped-up sneakers had wandered onto a heavily guarded estate and shared half a peanut butter sandwich with a silent little girl.
To mark the occasion, the family didn't host a grand political gala or a corporate symposium. Instead, they hosted an open-house community celebration on the estate grounds for hundreds of local children, families, and scholarship recipients supported by the Vance-Gomez Foundation.
The lawns were filled with food trucks, science booths, interactive coding stations, and games of tag echoing through the oak trees. Eva, now a confident and brilliant young woman heading toward college, ran the art station, while Lily managed the robotics obstacle course.
Marcus and Damian stood together near the stone terrace, watching the vibrant sea of happy children laughing in the golden afternoon sunlight.
"Ten years," Damian murmured, adjusting his jacket as he looked over at Marcus. "Ten years since you walked through those gates and changed our universe forever."
"And ten years since you gave a desperate kid a second chance," Marcus replied softly, his voice full of deep emotion.
Viktor walked up to them, holding a tray of fresh lemonade, offering a rare, gentle smile. "If someone had told me ten years ago that our greatest asset wouldn't be assault rifles or offshore accounts, but a peanut butter sandwich, I would have had them locked in the basement."
