Chapter 44 - Flight to the Alps

The private Gulfstream jet sliced effortlessly through the midnight sky, cruising high above the turbulent Atlantic toward the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. Inside the luxurious cabin, the atmosphere was a mix of intense tactical preparation and quiet familial solidarity. Marcus sat across a polished walnut table from Damian, reviewing a comprehensive dossier detailing Dmitri Rostov’s extensive corporate holdings, offshore accounts, and underground cyber extortion networks.

"Rostov thinks he's untouchable because he's operating inside the financial sanctuary of neutral Switzerland," Marcus explained, pointing to a series of encrypted financial spreadsheets on his laptop screen. "He's been using shell companies to short-sell our foundation's corporate partners, attempting to tank our endowment fund and force us into bankruptcy before the end of the fiscal year."

Damian crossed his arms, staring thoughtfully out the cabin window at the vast expanse of starlit clouds below. "Rostov always was a coward who preferred hiding behind ledgers and computers to fighting face-to-face. He watched Viktorov lose everything because he underestimated what a family fighting for survival could accomplish. He's about to make the exact same fatal mistake."

Viktor walked down the aisle from the cockpit, carrying a secure satellite phone. "We have confirmation from our Swiss legal contacts, Boss. Our emergency asset-freeze injunction has been filed with the Zurich Federal Banking Commission. The moment we touch down at Kloten Airport, Rostov’s primary financial arteries will be legally severed."

"Good," Damian murmured, standing up and straightening his tailored suit jacket. "Let's make sure our Swiss hosts are ready for us. When we land in Zurich, we don't waste a single minute."

As the jet began its smooth descent toward the illuminated runways of Zurich against a backdrop of majestic alpine peaks, Marcus felt a profound sense of gratitude. Years ago, he had walked onto Damian’s estate with taped-up sneakers and half a sandwich, desperate and starving. Now, he was flying alongside a man who had become a father figure, crossing international borders to dismantle the remnants of a criminal empire that dared to threaten their peaceful existence. They weren't just protecting a foundation; they were defending a legacy of love, resilience, and unyielding strength.
