Chapter 57 - The Proposal in the Conservatory

The following weekend, under the guise of celebrating the foundation’s spring botanical exhibition, Marcus arranged a breathtaking surprise inside the estate’s sunlit glass conservatory. The high-vaulted glass ceilings were draped with delicate fairy lights and blooming white orchids, creating a magical sanctuary of natural beauty.

Elena walked into the conservatory, looking around in absolute wonder as soft classical music played gently from hidden speakers. In the center of the room stood Marcus, dressed in a sharp blazer, standing beside a small table holding a single, beautifully wrapped gift box.

As Elena approached, smiling warmly, Marcus stepped forward, his eyes shining with deep, unmasked emotion.

"Elena," Marcus began softly, his voice echoing gently through the glass-domed room. "From the moment we met, you challenged my mind, understood my heart, and shared my passion for healing and lifting others. You make every day brighter, every challenge surmountable, and every success meaningful."

He reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out the velvet jeweler's box, and dropped gracefully down onto one knee.

"I never imagined I would find someone who feels like home," Marcus continued, opening the box to reveal the sparkling diamond ring. "Will you marry me? Will you build a lifetime of adventures, discoveries, and love with me?"

Tears of pure joy welled up in Elena’s eyes. She pressed her hands to her mouth, nodding vigorously before speaking through her happy emotions. "Yes! Yes, a million times yes, Marcus!"

From behind the marble pillars near the French doors, Eva, Lily, Viktor, and I watched the moment unfold, erupting into quiet cheers and applause as Marcus slipped the ring onto Elena’s finger and pulled her into a tender, emotional embrace.

Later that evening, we gathered around the long dining table for an intimate engagement dinner. Raising a crystal glass of champagne, I looked down the table at Marcus and Elena, whose radiant smiles lit up the entire room. The journey from isolation and survival to enduring love and family was complete.
