Chapter 45 - The Zurich Penthouse Confrontation

The morning sun cast a brilliant, blinding glare across the glass-and-steel skyscrapers of Zurich’s premier financial district. Our convoy of black luxury sedans pulled up silently outside the towering corporate headquarters of Apex Financial Holdings—a sleek architectural masterpiece overlooking Lake Zurich.

We stepped out into the crisp alpine air. Viktor flanked my right side, scanning the bustling plaza with the hyper-vigilant eyes of a military veteran, while Marcus walked purposefully beside me, carrying his encrypted tactical laptop connected directly to the Swiss banking registry.

"All accounts frozen, Boss," Marcus announced quietly, checking his screen as we strode through the revolving glass doors of the tower. "Rostov’s primary liquidity has been locked down by federal banking magistrates. He can't move a single franc."

"Let's go see how our dear friend is handling bankruptcy," I replied coldly, stepping directly into the private executive elevator bank.

We bypassed the front reception desk entirely, using a secure administrative security bypass code Marcus had extracted during our flight. The private elevator whisked us upward at dizzying speed, the digital floor numbers climbing rapidly toward the top of the tower: 38... 39... 40... 41... 42.

When the elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, we stepped out onto a penthouse floor draped in minimalist white marble, minimalist art installations, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering a panoramic view of the snow-covered Alps. Two private security guards in sharp charcoal suits stepped out from behind a marble reception desk, their hands hovering near their concealed holsters.

"Hold on!" the larger guard barked, stepping into our path. "Private floor. Appointments only—"

Viktor didn't even break his stride. With terrifying speed and brutal efficiency, Viktor executed a classic close-quarters combat sweep, driving his palm upward into the guard's chin before sweeping his legs out from under him. The second guard lunged forward, but I stepped inside his reach, grabbing his lapel and slamming him hard against the reinforced glass wall until his eyes rolled back and he slumped unconscious to the carpet.

I walked straight toward the massive double mahogany doors at the end of the hallway, raised my polished leather shoe, and kicked the heavy doors wide open with a resounding crash.
