Chapter 3 - The Miracle

Four hours later, Chloe was still sitting in the waiting room, frantically dialing every loan agency in the country.

She was met with rejection after rejection, the reality of her mother's fading heartbeat closing in on her.

Suddenly, a team of high-level hospital administrators came marching down the hallway.

They were practically sprinting, their faces flushed with a mixture of panic and awe.

"Nurse Chloe!" the Chief of Medicine called out, completely out of breath.

Chloe stood up, wiping her eyes, preparing herself for the worst news possible.

"We are prepping your mother for surgery right now," the Chief said, his hands shaking slightly as he held a clipboard.

Chloe froze. "What? But the money... I don't have it."

"It's been paid," the administrator replied, swallowing hard. "In full. By an anonymous donor."

Chloe's jaw dropped. "Anonymous? Who would do something like that?"

"We don't know, but the donor also just purchased the entire debt of this hospital."

Before Chloe could process this impossible information, her mother was being wheeled past her on a gurney.

The surgical team was moving with a level of urgency and precision Chloe had never seen before.

She watched the doors of the operating room swing shut, dropping to her knees in pure relief.

She didn't know who her guardian angel was, but she silently swore she would repay them somehow.

Little did she know, her guardian angel was currently stepping out of a private elevator down the hall.

Tariq Al-Farsi adjusted his cuffs, his dark eyes scanning the corridor until they locked onto the weeping girl.
