Chapter 26 - The Wrath of the Sheikh

Chloe was placed on supplemental oxygen in their master bedroom, surrounded by the best private doctors money could buy.
Tariq refused to leave her side for two days, holding her burning hand and whispering frantic promises into her ear.
Despite their best efforts, the doctors delivered a devastating verdict on the third morning.
The generic drug was working for the general public, but Chloeâs immune system was too compromised from exhaustion.
She needed Victorâs patented antiviral medication, and she needed it by midnight.
Tariq slowly stood up from the edge of the bed, a terrifying, unnatural calm settling over his features.
He kissed Chloeâs pale cheek, gently brushed a lock of hair from her face, and walked out of the room.
He did not go to his study to make phone calls.
He walked straight to the armory in the basement of the estate.
Tariq loaded a customized sidearm, his eyes black voids of lethal intent.
He gathered his personal security strike team, a group of highly trained ex-military operatives who answered only to him.
"We are going to Victor Vanceâs private warehouse," Tariq told his men, his voice carrying the weight of a death sentence.
"No negotiations, no warnings, we take what belongs to my wife."

The convoy of armored vehicles roared out of the estate, tearing through the city streets like avenging angels.
The ruthless tycoon the world thought had been tamed was back, and he was out for blood.
