Instead, he pulled a silver lighter from his pocket and set the contract on fire right in the middle of the boardroom table.
Victor jumped back as the flames licked the polished wood, his face turning purple with rage.
"You have twenty-four hours to release the medicine, Victor, or I will wipe your entire bloodline from the financial registry," Tariq whispered.
Tariq turned and walked out, leaving the pharmaceutical CEO trembling in the smoke.
He immediately returned home, gathering his most brilliant financial analysts and legal sharks in his private study.
They worked through the night, searching for any vulnerability, any hostile takeover loophole in Victorâs corporate armor.
Chloe woke up at dawn to find her husband surrounded by mountains of paperwork, his eyes bloodshot but fiercely determined.
When she learned what Victor had demanded, she placed a gentle hand on Tariqâs shoulder.
