Chapter 63 - Eternity on the Harbor

The sun dipped below the jagged skyline of downtown Baltimore, painting the clouds in brilliant shades of violet, amber, and deep crimson.

Harper and I stood out on the private glass balcony of the penthouse suite, wrapped in each other's arms, watching the lights of the container ships dance across the dark, rolling waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

The wind was cool, carrying the familiar scents of salt, rain, and distant engine smoke, but it had no power over us anymore. We had walked through the fire of the underworld, fought our way out of the traps laid in dark restaurants and rain-slicked docks, and built an empire out of loyalty, intellect, and unbreakable will.

Harper closed her eyes, letting out a long, contented sigh of absolute release as she rested her head against my chest.

“Do you ever think back to that night at Harbor House?” she asked softly, her voice barely audible over the evening breeze. “When I dropped the bottle of Bordeaux and told you to look under the table?”

I tightened my embrace, pressing her closer against my heart, feeling the steady, rhythmic beat of her life matching my own.

“Every single day,” I answered honestly. “Because if you hadn't looked under that table, I wouldn't have found the woman who gave me a soul, a future, and a reason to conquer the world.”

Harper smiled, opening her eyes to look up at me with a gaze that held all the warmth, light, and eternity I would ever need.

“We didn't just conquer the world, Vincent,” she whispered, standing on her tiptoes to press one final, lingering kiss to my lips. “We built our own.”

And as the stars emerged one by one above the Baltimore harbor, shining down on the unbroken expanse of our city, I knew that our story—written in iron, blood, and endless love—would echo across the waters forever.
