Chapter 32 - The Obsidian Headquarters at Nine

Down in the financial district, the towering obsidian glass facade of the corporate headquarters reflected the brilliant morning sky.

Inside the executive boardroom on the forty-fifth floor, Silas stood at the head of the long walnut table, reviewing the weekly operational reports with the regional directors. The room was quiet, disciplined, and entirely free of the tension that had once defined the syndicate’s internal politics.

“Logistics data for the northern shipping corridors shows a zero-variance compliance rate,” Silas reported, his deep voice carrying effortlessly across the room. “All regional assets have been successfully transitioned into our legal holding portfolio.”

One of the younger directors raised a hand hesitantly. “And the federal audit teams?”

“Closed their active files three weeks ago,” Silas replied flatly, a faint hint of pride in his tone. “When Miss Vance restructured the subsidiary accounts, she provided documentation so airtight the federal prosecutors didn't even know what to question. The organization is clean from top to bottom.”

The directors nodded in quiet reverence. The dark days of turf wars, midnight executions, and constant paranoia were dead and buried. Under the leadership of Ethan Moretti and the unyielding genius of his chief auditor, the Obsidian Corporation had become an untouchable fortress of legitimate enterprise.

Silas dismissed the meeting with a crisp nod, turning his gaze toward the city skyline outside the window, knowing that the empire was finally in safe hands.
