Chapter 23 - ETERNITY

One year after their wedding day, Lorenzo and Evelyn stood on the same balcony overlooking Lake Michigan. The weather was crisp, the sky painted with the brilliant hues of a Chicago sunset. Inside the estate, their newborn son, Leo, was sleeping peacefully in the nursery, guarded by the fiercest men in the city.

Evelyn leaned against Lorenzo’s chest, holding the laminated cocktail napkin in her hand once more. It was a reminder of where they had started—a desperate accountant and a ruthless mob boss, brought together by fate and forged in fire.

"We did it," Evelyn whispered, looking out at the glittering skyline. The city was safe. The innocent were protected. The ghosts of her past and his sins had finally been laid to rest.

Lorenzo wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against him. He looked out at the empire they had built together, not with bullets and blood, but with intellect, loyalty, and an all-consuming love.

"We didn't just survive, Evelyn," Lorenzo said, his voice rough with emotion. "We conquered. I am yours, body and soul, until the end of time."

Evelyn turned and pressed her lips to his, a deep, lingering kiss that tasted of promises kept and a future unbound. Under the watchful eyes of the stars, the King and Queen of Chicago embraced, ready to rule their world, forever and always.
