Chapter 7 - The Infiltration

Lorenzo stared down at the defiant, incredibly brave woman standing before him, his admiration for her growing exponentially.

She was completely untrained in warfare, armed with nothing but raw courage and an intimate knowledge of his enemy's fortress.

"You are absolutely out of your mind," Lorenzo muttered, shaking his head in disbelief, though a dark smirk touched his lips.

"Perhaps," Hannah agreed softly, "but I am also right."

They spent the entire afternoon plotting the infiltration with Marcus over the secure burner phone.

Dante was hosting a massive celebration at the estate that night, inviting all the captains who had sworn allegiance to his new regime.

It was the perfect distraction, leaving the lower levels of the mansion highly vulnerable to a silent, coordinated breach.

At midnight, Marcus arrived at the apartment driving a heavy, armored black SUV, accompanied by four heavily armed loyalists.

They greeted Lorenzo with absolute, unquestionable reverence, kissing his ring and swearing bloody vengeance against the traitors.

Hannah changed into a set of dark tactical clothes provided by Marcus, feeling completely absurd but undeniably empowered.

They drove back to the sprawling wooded hills outside Tarrytown, parking the SUV deep in the trees near the old bootlegger tunnel entrance.

"Hannah and I will breach through the tunnels and secure the main security hub," Lorenzo instructed his men quietly in the dark.

"Marcus, you will lead the assault team through the front gates exactly ten minutes after we disable the alarms."

"Do not leave a single traitor alive."

They moved quickly through the freezing woods, slipping back into the damp, dark tunnels they had escaped from just a few days ago.

Lorenzo moved significantly faster now, fueled by pure, unadulterated vengeance, his hand resting securely on a heavy, suppressed pistol.

They reached the service elevator, and Hannah expertly punched the override code she had memorized from the maintenance staff.

The elevator carried them silently up to the ground floor, bypassing the busy medical wing and stopping near the kitchen corridors.

The muffled sound of loud music and arrogant laughter echoed down from the grand library upstairs.

Dante was celebrating his stolen victory, completely unaware that the grim reaper had just walked through his back door.

"The security hub is down the west hall," Hannah whispered, pointing toward a heavy, steel-reinforced door.

They moved flawlessly through the shadows, Hannah leading the way through the intricate labyrinth of the service quarters.

Two of Dante’s armed guards were stationed outside the security hub, laughing and smoking cigarettes, completely relaxed.

Lorenzo did not hesitate for a single second.

He stepped out from the corner, raising his weapon with terrifying, lethal precision, and fired two silenced shots.

Both guards dropped to the floor instantly, dead before their cigarettes even hit the expensive marble tile.

Hannah gasped softly, covering her mouth with her hand, but she forced herself to keep moving forward.

Lorenzo stepped over the bodies, inputting a master override code into the keypad that Dante had foolishly failed to change.

The heavy steel door swung open, revealing the massive, glowing wall of security monitors that controlled the entire estate.

The technician sitting at the console spun around in absolute horror, dropping his coffee cup as he recognized the ghost standing in the doorway.

"Mr. Moretti!" the technician screamed, throwing his hands high into the air in total, pathetic surrender.

"Disable the front gates, and shut down the interior cameras immediately," Lorenzo commanded coldly, pointing his weapon at the man's chest.

The technician scrambled to comply, furiously typing commands into the keyboard, turning the screens completely black.

"The gates are open, sir," the terrified man reported, shaking violently.

Lorenzo pulled his burner phone from his pocket, pressing a single button to signal Marcus and the assault team outside.

"Let the slaughter begin," Lorenzo murmured darkly, tossing the phone onto the console.

The true king had officially returned to his castle, and he was absolutely demanding blood.
