Chapter 19 - The Fall of the Phantom

Silence rushed immediately back into the massive steel mill, heavy and absolute, broken only by the gentle sound of falling rain and Hannah’s deeply ragged breathing. Lorenzo climbed rapidly down the metal stairs, completely ignoring his bleeding ribs, his wide eyes locked desperately on the observation deck.
He met Hannah at the ground level just as she emerged slowly from the dark stairwell. She dropped the heavy sniper rifle instantly, her terrifyingly tough exterior shattering completely as she practically collapsed into his waiting, desperate arms.
"You promised me you would stay in the bunker," Lorenzo whispered fiercely, crushing her against his chest, completely terrified by how close she had come to the extreme violence.
"I promised you I wouldn't shrink," Hannah corrected him through her exhausted tears, burying her face deeply into his warm neck. "I told you I was a protector now."
Marcus approached them highly respectfully, supporting a battered, bleeding, but grinning Leo.
"The entire area is secure, Boss. All hostiles are eliminated," Marcus reported cleanly, looking at Hannah with an entirely new level of profound, undeniable reverence. She wasn't just the Boss’s wife anymore; she was a certified, highly lethal operator who had personally executed the syndicate’s greatest threat.
"Burn the mill to the ground," Lorenzo ordered coldly, not sparing a single backward glance at his brother’s corpse on the catwalk. "Erase every single trace of him from this earth. He doesn't deserve a grave."

They drove back to the estate in absolute silence, Hannah’s head resting heavily on Lorenzo’s uninjured shoulder. The bloody storm had finally passed. The remaining rogue factions across the city, hearing the terrifying rumors of Matteo’s brutal, sudden execution at the hands of Lorenzo’s heavily pregnant wife, surrendered immediately, swearing absolute, unquestionable loyalty to the Moretti family.
The throne was completely, unshakeably secure.
