Chapter 20 - The Heir and the Crown

Two months later, on a crisp, completely peaceful autumn morning, the loud cries of a newborn infant echoed beautifully through the pristine medical wing of the Moretti estate. Lorenzo stood completely frozen by the door, tears streaming freely down his terrifying, scarred face as Dr. Caldwell handed a small, tightly wrapped blue bundle directly into Hannah’s exhausted but deeply triumphant arms.
"He is absolutely perfect," Hannah whispered, kissing the boy's warm, soft forehead.
Lorenzo approached the hospital bed slowly, dropping to his knees just as he had done when he first learned of the pregnancy. He reached out with a trembling, heavily scarred hand, gently touching the incredibly soft cheek of his newborn son. Vincenzo Moretti. The heir to a massive empire built on blood, but meticulously forged into something entirely indestructible by love.
Later that evening, after the baby had fallen comfortably asleep in his custom mahogany crib, Lorenzo stepped out onto the grand stone balcony overlooking his vast, completely secure domain. Hannah joined him quietly, wrapping a heavy emerald silk shawl over her shoulders against the evening chill.
Lorenzo didn't say a word. He simply reached into his tailored pocket and pulled out a heavy, solid gold signet ring. It was the legendary ring of the Underboss, a position of immense power that had remained intentionally vacant since Dante’s betrayal.
Lorenzo didn't hand it to Marcus, and he didn't save it in a vault for his infant son. He gently took Hannah’s hand and slid the heavy gold band firmly onto her index finger. It was slightly too big, but it carried the absolute weight of undeniable, total power.

"I am the king of this city," Lorenzo declared softly, looking deep into her beautiful, fearless eyes. "But you, Hannah, are the brilliant architect of its survival. You are my complete equal, my partner, and my absolute queen. Today, tomorrow, and until my very last breath."
Hannah smiled radiantly, resting her head gently against his chest, listening to the strong, incredibly steady rhythm of the heart she had personally restarted. The cold truth was that the terrifying mafia boss had once been entirely dead. But his queen had brought him back to life, and together, they would completely rule the world.
