The silence in the library grew dense, punctuated only by the crackle of the dying fire and the low, rhythmic hum of the basement generator working at maximum capacity. Julian looked around the room, weighing his options with the clinical detachment of a prosecutor who had just lost his final case. The physical doors were locked; the digital network was sealed; the perimeter was entirely compromised by Dominic’s forces.
"And what happens now, Dominic?" Julian asked, resting his weight against the edge of the mahogany desk. "Do you put a bullet in us here in the dark? Do you let your guards clean up the mess and write another police report about a tragic accident?"
"Blood is messy, Julian," Dominic said, lowering the pistol just a fraction, though his finger remained firmly inside the trigger guard. "It leaves stains that even the best forensic teams have a hard time scrubbing away. And murder requires an explanation. I prefer a cleaner dissolution."
Vince stepped closer to the threshold, handing a heavy manila folder and a sleek cryptographic hardware token onto the small table beside Dominic’s wheelchair.
"You wanted the future, Julian? You wanted the global accounts, the shell corporations, the real estate portfolios?" Dominic nudged the token forward with his thumb. "They're yours. Every single holding, every corporate asset, every legal liability tied to the Moretti name has been legally reassigned to a newly formed holding entity under your name and Isabella’s."

Isabella stared at the token in disbelief. "You're giving it all away? After everything you built?"
"I'm not giving it away," Dominic corrected sharply. "I'm transferring the debt. The federal indictments, the international audit triggers, the active investigations currently sitting on desks in Geneva and Washington—they are all tied to those cryptographic signatures you just spent three hours locking down. By taking root access of the network, you legally certified yourselves as the primary beneficiaries and sole operators of the syndicate."
