Chapter 5 - The Confrontation

Vincent stepped away for a brief moment to take a business call.

That was all the opening Tyler needed.

He cornered me near the balcony doors, his face red with a mixture of anger and desperation.

"What kind of sick game are you playing, Emily?" Tyler hissed, grabbing my wrist.

I ripped my arm out of his grasp, glaring at him with pure disgust.

"Don't ever touch me again," I warned him, my voice steady and cold.

"You think he actually cares about you?" Tyler laughed bitterly.

"He's a billionaire, Emily. He's just using you for some PR stunt."

"And what were you using me for, Tyler?" I fired back.

"You used my love, my money, and my patience until you found someone with a bigger bank account."

Before Tyler could respond, a large, heavy hand clamped down on his shoulder.

Tyler turned pale as Vincent stepped out from the shadows of the balcony.

"Remove your hands from my woman, or I will remove them from your body," Vincent said quietly.

The threat wasn't loud, but it carried the weight of a death sentence.

Tyler stumbled backward, stammering out a pathetic apology.

"I... I was just talking to her, Mr. DeLuca," Tyler choked out.

"You don't have the right to breathe the same air as her, let alone speak to her," Vincent replied.

Vincent pulled a sleek phone from his pocket and pressed a single button.

"Cancel the merger with Vanessa's father's company," Vincent instructed the person on the line.

Tyler's eyes widened in sheer panic as he realized what was happening.

"Wait, please! That deal is my entire future!" Tyler begged.

"Your future ended the moment you humiliated Emily in my restaurant," Vincent said coldly.

He ended the call and wrapped his arm securely around my waist.

"Enjoy the rest of your evening, Tyler, because it will be your last night in high society."

Vincent led me away, leaving Tyler standing in the ruins of his own arrogance.
