Chapter 19 - The Fall of Romano

Before Marcus’s heavily armed mercenaries could even raise their weapons, the entire street outside the restaurant violently erupted in flashing red and blue lights.

Dozens of armored FBI tactical vehicles aggressively smashed through the remaining glass windows, completely surrounding the terrified mobsters.

"FBI! Drop your weapons immediately and get entirely on the ground!" a massive voice boomed loudly through a tactical megaphone.

Marcus’s cowardly men instantly dropped their heavy rifles, entirely unwilling to aggressively fight a losing battle against heavily armed federal agents.

Marcus, however, completely refused to quietly surrender his fragile, shattered pride.

He violently raised his silver pistol, aiming it desperately and directly at Vincent’s chest in a final, suicidal attempt at revenge.

Vincent moved with absolute, lethal precision, drawing his own weapon and firing a single, devastating shot directly into Marcus’s right shoulder.

Marcus screamed in sheer, absolute agony, dropping his weapon completely as the heavy impact threw him violently onto the marble floor.

Heavily armed federal agents immediately swarmed the broken mob boss, aggressively securing his hands behind his back in heavy steel cuffs.

The lead FBI agent walked directly over to Vincent, completely ignoring the chaotic, bloody scene unfolding across the restaurant.

"We successfully received the massive data dump, Mr. DeLuca," the federal agent stated firmly, nodding with a deep, grudging respect.

"The highly detailed ledgers completely clear your charitable organizations and entirely implicate Marcus Romano in massive federal crimes."

"I am simply a completely legitimate businessman who values a safe, highly peaceful community," Vincent replied smoothly, offering a charming, entirely fake smile.

The federal agent rolled his eyes slightly but aggressively ordered his men to clear the violent scene and leave us completely alone.

Tyler was still cowering pathetically under the expensive marble bar, completely sobbing in absolute, unadulterated terror.

I walked slowly over to my former abuser, looking down at him with absolutely zero pity or lingering anger.

"You can safely come out now, Tyler," I said coldly, entirely unbothered by his pathetic existence.

"And just so we are completely clear, you are permanently fired."

I turned my back entirely on my painful past and walked directly into the strong, protective arms of the man who owned my entire future.
