Chapter 15 - The Full Circle

Late that night, after the guests had departed and the garden was quiet under a blanket of brilliant stars, Daniel and I stood together at the edge of the dock extending into the calm bay waters.

The gentle water lapped against the wooden pilings, carrying a cool, fresh ocean breeze.

"What are you thinking about?" Daniel asked, pulling a light cashmere shawl around my shoulders.

I leaned my head against his shoulder, looking out at the endless dark horizon lit by distant starlight.

"I was thinking about that night at the wedding," I confessed quietly. "When Gavin told me that leaving me was the best decision he ever made."

Daniel looked down at me, his brow furrowing slightly. "Does that memory still bother you?"

I smiled, taking his hand and pressing it against my cheek.

"Not at all," I replied, my voice steady, confident, and filled with deep, immovable peace. "Because he was right. Leaving me was the best decision he ever made—because it gave me the freedom to find the life, the daughter, and the man I was truly meant to love."

Daniel smiled, leaning down to kiss my lips gently under the warm moonlight.

Hand in hand, we walked off the dock and back toward our glowing, beautiful home—a place built on truth, resilience, and an unbroken love that would last a lifetime.
