Chapter 5 - The Confession

Adrian threw his brother onto the cold steel floor of the industrial kitchen.
Julian was bleeding heavily from his mouth, looking up at Adrian with absolute terror.
"Are you insane?" Julian screamed, spitting blood onto the tiles.
Adrian pulled the black ledger from his soaked jacket pocket and threw it onto Julian's chest.
Julian looked down at the book, and all the color instantly drained from his face.
"You took him," Adrian said, his voice dropping to a terrifying, demonic whisper.
"You took my four-year-old son from that park and you threw him away like garbage."
Julian scrambled backward until his back hit the stainless steel refrigerators.
"Adrian, please, you have to understand," Julian begged, holding his hands up.
"Our father was going to leave the entire company to you and your heirs."
"I was going to be left with nothing but scraps while your golden child inherited the empire."
Adrian felt a murderous rage boiling completely out of his control.
"So you kidnapped your own nephew for money?" Adrian roared, kicking a steel cart across the room.
"I didn't kill him!" Julian cried out desperately.
"I could have, but I didn't!"
"I paid those people at the orphanage to take him in and keep him hidden."
Adrian grabbed a heavy meat cleaver from the butcher’s block, his eyes wild and devoid of mercy.
He slammed the blade into the steel door right next to Julian’s ear, making the younger man scream.
"Who adopted him five years ago?" Adrian demanded, leaning in so close Julian could feel his breath.
"I don't know!" Julian sobbed, trembling violently.
"They did it in secret, using a shell company based in Switzerland!"
"I swear to God, Adrian, I don't know where he is now!"
Adrian stared at the pathetic, broken man on the floor.

"Marcus," Adrian called out, and the massive security chief stepped into the kitchen.
"Lock him in the vault beneath the corporate office until I decide what to do with him."
