Chapter 4 - Blood and Betrayal

The flight back to Charleston was completely silent.
Adrian stared at the black notebook in his hands, unable to comprehend the sheer magnitude of the betrayal.
Julian was his own flesh and blood, the man who had stood beside him and cried at Noah’s memorial service.
Julian was the one who had comforted Claire when she had her worst mental breakdowns.
Julian had lived in their house, eaten at their table, and secretly stolen their only child.
"Where is he right now?" Adrian asked, his voice sounding completely hollow and dead.
"He is hosting a charity gala at the Sapphire Hotel downtown," Marcus replied, typing furiously on his tablet.
"Take me directly to the hotel roof," Adrian ordered.
When the helicopter landed on the sleek helipad of the Sapphire Hotel, Adrian did not wait for the blades to stop spinning.
He walked past the confused security guards, marching straight toward the VIP elevator.
He took the elevator down to the grand ballroom, where hundreds of wealthy elites were drinking champagne.
Adrian pushed open the heavy gold doors, the sheer force of his entry making the heavy hinges groan.
The music stopped instantly as the wealthy crowd turned to look at the soaking wet, furious billionaire.
Julian Caldwell was standing near the stage, holding a crystal glass of expensive wine.
He smiled when he saw his brother, oblivious to the storm that was about to destroy his life.
"Adrian, you look terrible," Julian laughed, walking toward him with open arms.
Adrian did not say a single word.
He stepped forward and drove his fist directly into Julian’s jaw with brutal, shattering force.
Julian crashed backward into a table of champagne flutes, glass shattering everywhere.
The crowd screamed in horror, backing away from the two brothers.

Adrian grabbed Julian by the collar of his expensive tuxedo and dragged him toward the private kitchens.
Marcus stood at the ballroom doors, casually blocking anyone from following them.
