Chapter 15 - THE FINAL CHOICE

The truth was finally complete.

Or so Enzo thought.

After years of lies, betrayal, and secrets, the final answer was not what he expected.

Victoria had known.

Victor had helped.

Marco had manipulated.

But the person who started everything...

Was someone nobody suspected.

Someone who had spent years pretending to be loyal.

Eleanor Bell.

Adeline stared at her.

“No.”

The elderly woman closed her eyes.

“I never wanted this.”

Enzo looked shocked.

“Why?”

Eleanor cried.

“Because your father destroyed my family.”

Silence.

She explained everything.

Years ago, before working for the Marchettis, her family lost everything because of a business decision made by Enzo’s father.

She believed he ruined their lives.

She wanted revenge.

But when she learned the truth...

It was too late.

She had already helped Victor.

She had already set events in motion.

Adeline looked heartbroken.

“You let all of this happen.”

Eleanor whispered:

“Yes.”

Enzo stepped forward.

“You hurt innocent people.”

“I know.”

For once, the person responsible did not make excuses.

She accepted what she had done.

And that was what made it harder.

Because sometimes the truth was not about finding a monster.

Sometimes it was about discovering broken people who made unforgivable choices.

Months later, the Marchetti empire changed.

The old ways ended.

The fear.

The silence.

The loyalty built through intimidation.

Enzo rebuilt everything differently.

And beside him was Adeline.

Not as a servant.

Not as someone protected.

As his equal.

One evening, they returned to the ballroom where everything began.

The same marble floor.

The same walls.

But this time, nobody was afraid.

Adeline smiled.

“Do you remember this night?”

Enzo looked at her.

“How could I forget?”

“The night everyone watched.”

He nodded.

“The night I should have acted sooner.”

She touched his hand.

“But you did act.”

May you like

He looked at her.

“And you changed everything.”
