Chapter 11 - THE MAFIA BOSS MAKES HIS CHOICE

Victoria Marchetti entered the mansion like she still owned it.

Like nothing had changed.

Like the entire world had not started seeing the truth.

She looked at Enzo.

“You’ve been busy.”

Enzo stood across from her.

“You lied to me.”

Her expression remained calm.

“About what?”

“My father.”

A small silence.

Then Victoria smiled.

“I wondered when you would finally ask.”

Adeline stood nearby.

Victoria noticed.

Of course she noticed.

“You brought her into this?”

Enzo’s voice hardened.

“She was already in this.”

Victoria looked at Adeline.

“You have no idea what you started.”

Adeline did not move.

“For years, everyone was afraid of you.”

Victoria smiled.

“And you think being brave makes you powerful?”

“No.”

Adeline answered.

“It makes me impossible to control.”

That sentence angered Victoria.

Because it was true.

She turned back to Enzo.

“You think your father was innocent?”

Enzo froze.

“What?”

Victoria stepped closer.

“You only know half the story.”

She revealed the truth she had been hiding.

Years ago, Enzo’s father discovered the corruption.

But he also discovered something else.

A betrayal inside his own company.

Someone he trusted had been stealing from him.

Someone who later blamed Victoria.

Enzo stared.

“Who?”

Victoria hesitated.

For the first time...

She looked afraid.

“Victor.”

The name shocked everyone.

“But you protected him.”

“I was protecting you.”

Enzo laughed bitterly.

“Everyone says they are protecting me.”

His voice became cold.

“But somehow I’m always the one who gets hurt.”

Victoria looked at him.

“I made mistakes.”

“No.”

Enzo shook his head.

“You made choices.”

That was the moment Victoria understood.

She had lost her son.

Not because of a lawsuit.

Not because of evidence.

Because he finally saw her clearly.

Then Victor’s men attacked the mansion.

Gunshots echoed through the halls.

Everyone dropped.

And in the chaos...

Victor escaped with the last piece of evidence.

The truth was almost complete.

Almost.
