Chapter 6 - The Architect's Wrath

Outside the main gates of the Castellano estate, six black armored SUVs were parked in a aggressive semicircle, blocking the private driveway. Twenty men in heavy tactical gear stood outside the vehicles, carrying automatic rifles.

Standing in the center of the road was Julian Moretti.

Julian was forty years old, broad-shouldered, wearing an expensive leather jacket and a gold chain around his neck. His face was ruined by a permanent, arrogant scowl—the look of a man who had inherited power without ever learning the discipline required to hold it.

The heavy iron gates of the estate slowly swung open.

Damon Castellano walked out alone.

He wore no tactical gear, no body armor—just his tailored Tom Ford suit, his hands casually resting in his trouser pockets as he walked down the stone driveway toward twenty armed men. Behind him, perched high on the estate's stone walls, twenty of Damon’s snipers lowered their red laser sights, quietly painting target dots over every single one of Julian’s men.

Julian laughed loudly, stepping forward. "Well, well! The great Architect leaves his fortress! Where is she, Damon?"

Damon stopped ten feet away from Julian, his expression utterly serene, as if he were attending a casual Sunday brunch rather than a stand-off.

"You're trespassing on private property, Julian," Damon said, his voice smooth and conversational. "It's bad for your health."

Julian’s laughter died down, replaced by a dark glare. "Nora Vance belongs to me! Her father signed her over to the Moretti family three years ago! Hand her and her illegitimate brat over right now, or I'll tear this mansion down stone by stone!"

Damon tilted his head slightly, as if examining a minor insect.

"First of all," Damon said softly, "Nora Vance belongs to no one. Second of all... her daughter is not a brat."

Julian sneered, raising his hand toward his holster. "I don't give a damn about your speeches, Castellano! You think because you wear expensive suits and talk like a businessman that you're tough? You're soft! Your grandfather had balls, but you're just a glorified accountant!"

Damon didn't look insulted. He pulled a sleek white smartphone from his pocket and tapped the screen once.

"At 8:15 this morning," Damon remarked casually, looking at his phone, "your primary offshore accounts in Zurich were flagged for international terrorism funding by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission. By 8:20, your three major shipping container vessels in the port of Genoa were seized by Italian maritime authorities."

Julian froze, his brow furrowing in confusion. "What... what are you talking about?"

"And three minutes ago," Damon continued, locking eyes with Julian, "your two younger brothers were arrested in Miami by the FBI for tax evasion and racketeering. The warrants were issued based on encrypted ledgers delivered anonymously to the federal prosecutor's desk an hour ago."

Julian’s face went completely red with shock. He pulled his phone from his pocket, his hands shaking as he saw dozens of frantic text messages and missed calls from his family lawyers.

"You... you bastard!" Julian screamed, drawing his gun. "You ruined my family!"

Before Julian could raise his arm, twenty bright red laser dots settled directly over his chest and forehead.

"Pull that trigger, Julian," Damon said quietly, taking a step forward, his voice chillingly calm, "and twenty high-velocity rounds will pass through your body before your finger finishes its contraction. You came here expecting a gunfight. I brought an execution."

The twenty mercenaries standing behind Julian looked at the red laser dots covering their own chests, swallowed hard, and slowly began lowering their weapons, stepping away from their boss.

"Stand down!" Julian roared at his men, but nobody moved to support him.

Damon walked right up to Julian, stepping into the barrel of Julian’s trembling gun, completely fearless. He reached out with two fingers, gently taking the barrel of the weapon and pushing it down toward the asphalt.

"Nora and Clara are under my protection," Damon whispered into Julian’s ear, his voice sounding like judgment itself. "If I see your face, hear your name, or catch your men within five miles of my family ever again... I won't freeze your accounts. I will erase your name from history. Do you understand me?"

Julian swallowed hard, his arrogant composure completely shattered. He nodded once, his eyes filled with pure terror.

May you like

"Get off my land," Damon commanded.

Julian scrambled back into his armored SUV, his men frantically piling into their vehicles, and the six SUVs sped away down the driveway, kicking up clouds of dust as they fled into the morning fog.
