The sun began to set over the installation, casting a warm, golden glow across the horizon. Nora stood at her post by the main entrance, watching the steady stream of vehicles passing through the gates.
She felt no bitterness. She felt no regret. The heavy, suffocating debt of obligation that had bound her to a toxic family for decades had been burned away in the fire of that ballroom catastrophe.

A sleek black sedan approached the gate, slowing to a stop. The window rolled down, revealing a stranger who smiled politely and flashed a valid contractor badge.
Nora checked the credentials, verified the clearance, and pressed the button to raise the security barrier.

"Welcome to the installation, sir. Have a safe drive," she said clearly, her voice steady and sure.
The barrier lifted smoothly into the evening air, and Nora watched the car drive forward into the protected light. The gate was open to those who carried honor, but it was permanently closed to anyone who didn't know its worth.
