Chapter 6 - Bianca Returned With One Last Secret—The Affair Had Been Part of Richard's Plan From the BeginningBianca requested immunity.

She offered evidence.
Michael warned Bella not to trust her.
Bella agreed.
Then Bianca arrived.
She looked exhausted.
“I need to tell you something.”
Bella sat across from her.
“Talk.”
“Your husband wasn't the first target.”
Bella's expression hardened.
“Then who?”
“You.”
Bianca explained that Richard had known about Bella's influence over the family long before the affair.
He believed Bella was the real power behind Adriano's legitimate empire.
So he planned to isolate her.
Make her look unstable.
Make Adriano distrust her.
Then move the assets.
Bianca was supposed to help.
She did.
But she had not expected to fall for Adriano.
Bella stared at her.
“I don't care whether you loved him.”
“I know.”
“You hurt me.”
“I know.”
“You helped them.”
“I know.”
Bianca's eyes filled.
“I was wrong.”
Bella nodded.
“That doesn't undo it.”
“No.”
“But I want you to tell the truth.”
“I will.”
Her testimony became essential.
Richard's case collapsed.
The Moretti family survived.
The legitimate businesses survived.
But Adriano's old empire did not.
He let it die.
That was his greatest victory.
Not keeping power.
Giving it up.
Bella returned to architecture full-time.
Her first independent project after leaving the Moretti family was a rehabilitation center for women and children escaping dangerous homes.
She did not tell Adriano until the building plans were nearly complete.
He walked through the unfinished structure.
“It's beautiful.”
“It's not finished.”
“It will be.”
He looked at her.
“What will you call it?”
“Isabella House.”
Adriano smiled.
“I like it.”
“It isn't named after me.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“It isn't?”
“It means home.”
That answer stayed with him.
Because he finally understood.
Bella had never wanted a mansion.
She wanted a home.
Their son was born six weeks later.
Mateo Romano Moretti.
Adriano held him with shaking hands.
“He's perfect.”
Bella smiled.
“You sound surprised.”
“I am.”
“Why?”
“Because I don't deserve something this good.”
Bella looked at him.
“Then don't waste it.”
May you like
He nodded.
“I won't.”
