Chapter 14 - THE DIGITAL BREACH

The PR nightmare following the gala was worse than anyone could have possibly imagined.
By morning, the Blackwood Industries stock had plummeted by twelve percent due to the scandal.
Hannah paced the floor of the estate library, feeling incredibly guilty for bringing this chaos into Ethan's life.
To make matters worse, Ethan's chief technology officer burst into the library without knocking.
"Sir, we have a massive problem," the executive panted, holding up a sleek tablet.
"Someone just leaked the proprietary blueprints for our new eco-city project to our biggest overseas competitor."
Ethan snatched the tablet, his eyes scanning the technical data with terrifying speed.
"Track the IP address immediately, find out exactly whose computer this came from," Ethan barked.
The executive swallowed hard, looking nervously between the furious billionaire and his frightened fiancée.
"We already did, Mr. Blackwood, the files were sent directly from the new laptop you bought for Miss Carter."
Hannah gasped, dropping her coffee cup onto the Persian rug where it shattered into dozens of pieces.
"No, Ethan, I swear to you I didn't do this, I don't even know the password to those servers!" she pleaded.
Ethan looked at the digital evidence, and for one agonizing second, total silence filled the vast room.
Then, Ethan threw the tablet directly into the roaring fireplace, watching the expensive device melt into plastic slag.
