While Olivia was experiencing the miracle of birth, Ethan was experiencing absolute hell.
He was standing before a military tribunal, dressed in his formal uniform, though it looked pathetic on his defeated frame.
The military took the abuse of a spouse by a commanding officer incredibly seriously.
His commanding general, a strict man with zero tolerance for cowards, stared down at him from the bench.
"Major Brooks, you have disgraced this uniform, this country, and everything the Army stands for," the General barked.
Ethan kept his eyes glued to the floor, sweating profusely under the intense fluorescent lights.
They played the audio recordings of him threatening Olivia, proving he used his military training to intimidate a pregnant woman.
His fellow soldiers, men who used to salute him with respect, now looked at him with pure, venomous disgust.
"I recommend a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a referral to civilian courts for attempted murder," the prosecutor stated firmly.
Ethan’s military defense attorney didn't even try to argue against the mountain of undeniable evidence.
The tribunal's ruling was incredibly swift and absolutely merciless.
Ethan was officially stripped of his rank, his pension, and his honor.
He was escorted out of the military base in handcuffs, thrown into the back of a civilian police cruiser to face his main trial.
