Chapter 7 - The Target

Peace in the mafia never lasts long.

Luca’s loyalists, angry at their boss's exile, decided to retaliate.

They did not aim for Alessandro, because they knew his security was impenetrable.

Instead, they aimed for the woman they believed had taken Vivian's place.

It happened while Rosa was in the estate's sprawling garden, picking fresh roses for the kitchen.

A black SUV crashed through the wrought-iron side gates, tires tearing up the manicured lawn.

Four men in ski masks jumped out, aiming automatic weapons at the greenhouse.

Rosa screamed, dropping her basket, and ran toward the mansion.

Gunfire erupted, shattering the glass panels of the greenhouse into a million deadly shards.

Enzo and the perimeter guards returned fire instantly, pinning the attackers down.

Alessandro was in his office when he heard the shots.

His heart stopped.

He grabbed the tactical shotgun from beneath his desk and sprinted out the door.

He didn't care about his empire, his money, or his territory right now.

All he cared about was the beautiful maid who had stolen his cold heart.
