Chapter 10 - The New Beginning

The transition of power took six grueling months of negotiations, payouts, and threats.
But Alessandro Moretti, the most feared man in New York, kept his word.
He handed over the keys to his violent empire and walked out the door with only his personal fortune.
They moved to a massive, quiet estate in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy.
There were no velvet curtains hiding assassins, no crystal goblets filled with poison.
There was only the warm sun, endless vineyards, and peace.
Alessandro stood on the rustic wooden patio, watching Rosa laugh as she chased a butterfly.
Lily, now four years old, tugged on Alessandro's pant leg.
He knelt down, smiling warmly at his adopted daughter.
"Papa," she signed perfectly, her bright eyes shining with joy.
"Can we go ride the horses?"
Alessandro's heart swelled with a kind of love he never thought he would experience.
"Of course we can, principessa," he signed back.

He looked up as Rosa walked over, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He had lost his criminal empire, but he had finally found his true kingdom.
