Chapter 6 - A Walk into Tomorrow

One year later.
The summer afternoon sun shone brightly over the Falcone estate. The manicured lawns were decorated with dozens of white floral arches, shimmering crystal chandeliers suspended from ancient oak trees, and tables laden with fine food and wine.
Over two hundred guests—syndicate leaders, local politicians, staff members, and childhood friends—were assembled in the gardens, cheering happily.
Dante Falcone stood beneath the main floral altar, wearing a impeccably tailored tuxedo. He looked strong, handsome, and radiantly happy.
Walking down the white carpeted aisle toward him was Rosa.
She looked breathtaking. She wore a custom-designed ivory lace wedding gown that hugged her voluptuous, hourglass curves with absolute perfection, trailing a long silk veil behind her. Her dark blonde hair was styled in soft, glamorous waves, her face glowing with pure, uncontainable joy.
Beside her, carrying a small basket of yellow rose petals, was four-year-old Sophia, wearing a matching miniature lace dress, her pigtails tied with golden silk ribbons.
As Rosa reached the altar, Dante stepped forward, taking her hand in his, looking into her eyes with a devotion so fierce and pure it brought tears to the eyes of half the guests assembled.
"You are breathtaking, my love," Dante whispered, kissing the back of her hand.
"I love you, Dante," Rosa murmured, her voice thick with emotion.
The priest spoke the sacred vows, and when the moment arrived, Dante didn't wait for the final blessing. He pulled Rosa into his broad arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her with deep, passionate intensity while the entire crowd burst into thunderous applause and cheers!
Later that evening, as the sun began to set behind the pine forests, turning the sky into shades of deep purple and warm gold, the clock on the grand tower chimed four times.
DING. DING. DING. DING.
Dante looked at Rosa, a playful, loving spark dancing in his dark eyes.
"Shall we go for our walk, Mrs. Falcone?" Dante asked softly.
Rosa laughed—a rich, musical sound—taking his arm. "Only if our supervisor approves."
They turned to look down the stone garden path.
Four-year-old Sophia stood ten feet behind them.
She had folded her tiny hands behind her back.
She puffed out her chest.
She lowered her chin slightly, frowning with supreme, hilarious authority.
Dante smiled, folded his hands behind his back, and took a slow, measured step forward.

Rosa folded her hands behind her back, stepping beside her husband.
And right behind them came Sophia, taking absurdly long little steps, giggling happily as the three of them walked down the sunlit path together into their bright, beautiful forever.
