Chapter 4 - The Counter-Strap

That night, while Isabella finally fell into a deep, dreamless sleep upstairs, I held a private council in my underground security vault with Marcus and three of my most trusted cybersecurity specialists.
"I don't want a quick hit," I told them, pacing slowly across the concrete floor. "If we just have her arrested by the local police, her high-priced defense attorneys will claim it was a misunderstanding, a medical error, a family dispute. She’ll walk on bail, or worse, the story leaks to the press and damages Isabella's peace of mind."
"So what’s the play, boss?" Marcus asked, leaning against a stack of secure servers.
"We turn her own weapon against her," I said coldly. "We replace her amber vial with an identical compound—one that neutralizes the toxins completely and floods her system with harmless vitamin tracers that will show up clearly in medical blood work. We let her keep administering her 'medicine' every single morning while believing she's winning."
"And while she thinks she's winning?" Marcus grinned, catching on instantly.
"While she thinks she's winning, we deploy federal tax fraud investigators to audit every single bank account, offshore shell company, and hidden asset Evelyn has touched over the last ten years," I continued. "We build a federal RICO case so airtight she won't even have time to blink before the prison doors slam shut forever."

For the next week, the plan executed with clockwork precision.
Every morning, Evelyn crept into the nursery, jammed the signal jammer, and administered her drops into Isabella's food. And every afternoon, Isabella’s color slowly began to return. Her hands stopped trembling. The light in her eyes flickered back to life, fueled by the antidote running silently through her system while Evelyn remained blissfully, arrogantly blind to the trap closing around her.
