The sun rose over the Chicago skyline on Friday morning, casting a brilliant golden glow across Lake Michigan and illuminating the soaring glass facade of Whitmore Tower.
Inside the executive penthouse office, the boxes of federal evidence were gone. The forged signatures, the wire transfer logs, and the cold remnants of Julian and Victoria's betrayal had been swept away, replaced by clean slate and a renewed sense of purpose.
