Chapter 8 - THE EXPOSURE

Flashbulbs erupted like a thunderstorm as Daniel finally reached the front of the room.
He did not look at the reporters, nor did he look at the flashing cameras.
He handed a small, red hard drive to his lead attorney, who immediately plugged it into the projector system.
"You have been busy while I was sleeping, Charles," Daniel said, his tone dangerously calm.
Massive spreadsheets, offshore bank account records, and wire transfers suddenly appeared on the screen behind the podium.
"This is proof of forty million dollars funneled out of our pension fund into your private accounts," Daniel announced to the press.
The journalists gasped, instantly typing away on their laptops as the scandal of the decade unfolded before them.
Voss stepped back from the microphone, his confident facade shattering into a million pieces.
"This is a fabrication, a sick delusion from a brain-damaged man!" Voss screamed desperately.
Daniel ignored him and nodded to his attorney, who clicked to the next slide.
It was a security video from the estate garage, showing Voss's personal driver tampering with Daniel's car late at night.
"You stole from my company, Charles, but I could have forgiven that," Daniel said softly.
"But you cut my brakes, and you put innocent people in danger to cover your tracks."
Police sirens began wailing in the distance, growing louder as they approached the corporate headquarters.
Voss lunged forward in a blind rage, trying to tackle Daniel to the ground.
Before he could take two steps, Daniel’s security chief slammed Voss into the polished floor.

Daniel looked down at his former friend with nothing but pity and disgust.
"You are finished, Charles," Daniel whispered as the police burst into the room.
