Chapter 7 - The Resurrection

Victor fled directly to the Romano warehouse in the industrial district.
He burst through the doors in a complete panic, shouting for Carlo Romano.
"Moretti's men are still active!" Victor screamed at the confused rival boss.
"They just slaughtered my team at the estate!"
Carlo Romano grabbed Victor by the collar, his face twisting in anger.
"You told me the empire was secured, you incompetent fool!" Carlo roared.
Outside the warehouse, the heavy, relentless rain continued to fall.
I stepped out of my armored SUV, pulling the collar of my dark coat against the wind.
I was not dead.
I was a ghost returning from the grave to exact vengeance.
I had brought fifty of my most loyal, heavily armed soldiers with me.
We did not knock, and we did not negotiate.
My men launched tear gas through the high windows of the warehouse.
As the blinding white smoke filled the building, we breached the steel doors.
The Romano soldiers were coughing, blinded, and entirely completely unprepared.
The gunfire was deafening, a symphony of absolute destruction.
I walked calmly through the chaos, my gold-handled revolver drawn.
I was not looking for foot soldiers.
May you like
I was looking for the man who had stood beside me for twenty-five years.
I found Victor crawling desperately toward a fire exit.
