Chapter 5 - The Rat Revealed
Victor began cleaning house with ruthless, terrifying speed.
He fired my loyal security guards and replaced them with Romano mercenaries.
He ordered the immediate liquidation of my legitimate real estate assets.
But there was one loose end that Victor could not ignore.
He knew that Elena and Sophia had been in the dining room the night he handed me the pill.
He knew the little girl had noticed the sound of the bottle.
I watched through the hidden security cameras as Victor commanded two armed men to search the staff quarters.
"Find the housekeeper and the brat," Victor ordered coldly.
"Bury them in the woods where nobody will ever find them."
My blood boiled with a rage so pure it tasted like copper in my mouth.
Gabriel stood beside me, waiting for the command.
"Take a tactical team through the underground tunnels," I ordered Gabriel.
"Protect Elena and Sophia at all costs, and kill anyone who stands in your way."
Gabriel geared up, his face an emotionless mask of impending violence.
Back at the estate, Victor's men kicked open the door to Elena's empty apartment.
They tore the room apart, screaming in frustration when they found nothing.
They had no idea that Elena and Sophia were securely locked in my reinforced private suite.
But Victor was smart, and he soon realized the guest suite was the only room he could not access.
