The forensic team reconstructed the gala planning minute by minute.
Garrett personally added the outside director, foundation trustee, and corporate counsel to the guest list.
He ordered the fountain camera view kept clear.
He moved Miriam away from Alessia’s table.
He moved Evelyn beside Alessia.
He instructed ballroom security not to intervene in “family disagreements” unless Alessia gave a direct order.
That last instruction disturbed Naomi.
“Why would he care?”
Alessia knew.
“If someone stopped him before I reacted, the scene ended.”
The event planner found another email.
Garrett had asked whether the decorative fountain area would remain brightly lit after dinner.
Courtney replied yes.
He answered:
Good. Keep it that way.
No explanation.
The forensic audit found the financial motive beside the staging evidence.
Garrett’s private venue would have defaulted within days.
His hidden diversions from the Relief Foundation were approaching exposure because Miriam had identified the first inflated invoices.
His only realistic options were confess, find outside money, or gain time inside the foundation systems before independent auditors took over.
Then Naomi received records from Garrett’s reputation consultant.
