Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Slaughter
At 9:00 AM, the executive board of Bastion Arc convened in the glass-walled conference room.
Richard Vance sat at the head of the table, looking incredibly pleased with himself.
“Gentlemen, let’s begin the vote on the Vanguard merger,” Richard announced, raising his pen.
The double doors swung open, and Graham walked in, radiating absolute authority.
Elise walked right beside him, carrying a single, thick black folder.
“There will be no vote,” Graham said, taking his seat and gesturing for Elise to stand at the projector.
Richard frowned. “Graham, who is this woman? This is a closed corporate meeting.”
“This is Elise Parker, my new Chief Risk Officer,” Graham smiled. “And she has a presentation you are going to find fascinating, Richard.”
Elise connected her tablet, and massive screens around the room lit up with Richard’s offshore bank accounts.
