Chapter 5 - The Gala Trap

Confronting Richard Vance in the office wouldn’t be enough; they needed a confession on record.
Vanguard was hosting a massive charity gala that evening at the Plaza Hotel, an event Richard was guaranteed to attend.
“We go together,” Graham stated, handing Elise a garment bag he had his assistant procure.
“I need you there to trace his digital transfers on the local network while I keep him distracted.”
Elise opened the bag to find a stunning, midnight-blue silk gown that fit her like a second skin.
When she stepped out of Graham’s private dressing room, the billionaire actually lost his breath.
“You look like a weapon,” Graham murmured, offering his arm.
“That’s the idea,” Elise replied, a fierce smile curving her lips.
They arrived at the Plaza with the flash of paparazzi cameras lighting up the night.

Graham kept a protective hand on the small of Elise’s back as they navigated the ballroom, the chemistry between them electric and undeniable.
Across the room, Richard Vance locked eyes with Graham, his smug smile faltering when he noticed the beautiful, dangerous woman by his side.
