Chapter 4 - A MOTHER'S DESTINY

Following Damien's arrest and the purging of his rogue loyalists, the atmosphere within the Viscari estate underwent a seismic shift.

The fear that once dominated the corridors was replaced by an aura of structured order and genuine respect.

Two days after the incident, Alessandro called me into his main office. He sat behind his desk, reviewing corporate records with a warm mug of coffee.

"Elena," he said, setting the papers aside. "I’ve spent the morning reviewing the estate's administrative logs. You handled the logistics for the entire residential staff for three years while raising your daughter alone."

"I did what I had to do to give Sophie a safe home, Mr. Viscari," I replied modestly.

Alessandro pulled out a newly drafted contract stamped with his golden personal seal.

"Effective immediately," Alessandro declared, sliding the folder toward me, "your role as housekeeper is terminated. You are appointed as Executive Director of Estate Operations and Logistics across all Viscari residential properties."

I stared at the figures listed on the page—a six-figure salary, comprehensive healthcare, private security detail, and permanent residence in the east wing suites.

"Alessandro... I can't accept this," I breathed, overwhelmed by the gesture.

"You saved this family from an internal war, Elena," Alessandro said, standing up and coming around his desk to stand beside me. "Your courage exposed a rat that had been hiding in plain sight for fifteen years. You earned this."
