Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Sunrise

One year later.

The summer sea breeze blew gently across the private cliffs overlooking the ocean behind the Costa estate.

The grand gardens were filled with hundreds of white roses, crystal chairs, and a long silk-draped altar set up right at the edge of the cliff.

There were no armed security guards visible—though fifty tactical operatives were stationed in the surrounding woods—and no crime bosses making tactical calculations. Today was not a diplomatic negotiation. It was not a fake claim to stop a war.

It was a real wedding.

Chloe stood in the private dressing room, looking at herself in the mirror.

She wore a breathtaking, custom-designed lace wedding gown that hugged her voluptuous curves perfectly, trailing off into a dramatic six-foot train of sheer silk. Her dark hair cascaded down her back in elegant, soft waves, crowned by a delicate tiara of diamonds and pearls—a gift from Don Vincenzo.

Beside her stood Mr. Hart, holding a bouquet of fresh white peonies.

"You are ready, Mrs. Costa," Hart said softly, a tear glistening in his old eyes.

"Thank you, Hart," Chloe said, her voice steady, her face glowing with pure, radiant happiness. "For everything."

The heavy doors opened, and Don Vincenzo walked in, wearing his finest black tuxedo, his ebony cane polished to a high sheen. He held out his arm to her, his old face split in a proud, radiant smile.

"Shall we go show the world who rules this family, my dear?" Vincenzo asked softly.

Chloe took his arm with a brilliant smile. "Let's go, Nonno."

The doors to the cliffside terrace opened, and the music played softly into the summer air.

Guests stood up—capos, city leaders, dockworkers, and international diplomats—all bowing their heads in genuine, profound respect as Chloe walked down the white aisle.

At the end of the altar stood Luciano.

He wore a pristine black tuxedo, looking more handsome, powerful, and striking than she had ever seen him. But as he looked at Chloe walking toward him, his dark eyes filled with tears—a sight that no man on the East Coast had ever witnessed before.

When Vincenzo placed Chloe's hand in Luciano's, the old man whispered, "Take care of my king, little girl."

"I will," Chloe promised.

Luciano took her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers, his thumb stroking her skin with infinite tenderness.

"You took my breath away," Luciano whispered, his voice trembling slightly with emotion.

"You look pretty good yourself, Don Costa," she teased gently.

The priest began the traditional service, but neither of them heard the Latin words echoing across the ocean breeze. They were looking into each other's eyes, seeing the wild, dangerous, breathtaking journey that had brought them to this cliff.

From a fake wife in a bloody conference room to a real queen on the throne of an empire.

"Luciano Costa," the priest asked, "do you take Chloe Mercer to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in war and in peace, until death do you part?"

Luciano looked directly into Chloe's eyes, his voice booming out across the ocean with absolute, unyielding devotion:

"I do."

"And do you, Chloe Mercer, take Luciano Costa to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in war and in peace, until death do you part?"

Chloe smiled, a tear of joy slipping down her cheek as she squeezed his hand tightly.

"I do."

"Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Don Luciano... you may kiss your bride."

Luciano didn't wait a single microsecond. He pulled Chloe tightly into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her with all the fierce, unbridled, possessive love in his soul.

The crowd erupted into deafening cheers and applause. Guns were fired into the air down at the harbor in a joyous salute, echoing across the blue water.

Luciano pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against hers, both of them panting, laughing, and holding each other tightly against the bright summer sky.

"You started a war to save me," Chloe whispered against his lips.

May you like

"And I would burn the entire world to keep you," Luciano promised, his eyes blazing with eternal devotion. "You are my wife, Chloe. Forever."

And as the sun rose high over Port Meridian, the Mafia Boss and his Curvy Queen turned toward their empire, ready to rule it together—side by side, unstoppable, and forever bound by love.
