Chapter 10 - The Master of the BoardOne year later.

The penthouse apartment overlooking Central Park was warm and filled with the scent of fresh coffee and autumn rain.

Sienna stood near the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, wearing a comfortable silk robe, holding a warm mug of tea. Her hair fell softly over her shoulders, her emerald engagement ring sparkling in the morning light.

In her other hand, she held an official letter from the New York State Bar Association.

She was officially a licensed attorney. Next week, she was opening the Caleb Cross Legal Foundation—a non-profit firm funded entirely by Vance Financial, dedicated to protecting whistleblowers and federal witnesses who had nowhere else to turn.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind.

Damian pulled her back against his chest, resting his chin on her shoulder, his lips pressing a soft kiss against her neck.

"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Vance?" Damian asked softly, his voice full of warmth.

Sienna smiled, leaning back against his solid, reliable warmth. "I was just thinking about the night we met."

Damian let out a soft chuckle. "The night Garrett Holloway threw mousse in your face?"

"The night you sat three stools down from me, ordering a Macallan, studying me like a chessboard," Sienna corrected, turning around in his arms to look up at his dark, handsome face. "You thought you were setting up a trap."

"I was," Damian admitted, a wicked, loving smile touching his lips. "I just didn't realize that the ghost I was hunting was going to end up capturing the king."

"You let yourself be captured," Sienna teased, running her fingers through his dark hair.

"Best decision I ever made," Damian whispered, leaning down to press a soft, tender kiss against her lips.

Through the large windows, the city of Manhattan stretched out below them—a city where they had once walked as shadows, but now ruled together as equals.

The humiliation was gone. The ghosts were laid to rest.

And in their place stood an unshakeable empire built not on fear, but on a love that had proven itself entirely invincible.
