Chapter 7 - The Trial and the TruthThree weeks later, the snow began to fall over Manhattan, turning the bustling streets into a winter wonderland of white and silver.

Damian had fully recovered, his formidable strength returning completely. But the world around them had shifted dramatically.
With Holloway's empire dismantled, Vance Financial had expanded its reach, securing its position as the undisputed powerhouse of the East Coast. However, Damian spent far less time in his corporate office now. He spent his days with Sienna.
Together, they walked into the Federal Courthouse in downtown Manhattan for the final disposition hearing of Garrett Holloway.
Sienna wore a sophisticated charcoal pantsuit, her chestnut hair falling naturally around her shoulders. Beside her, Damian looked imposing and elegant in a navy suit, his hand firmly holding hers as they navigated through a sea of news reporters and flashing camera lights.
Inside the crowded courtroom, Garrett Holloway sat at the defense table, wearing an orange jumpsuit, his hair messy, his face gaunt. He looked broken, a shell of the arrogant man who had once ruled the city's dark underbelly.
When Sienna walked past him toward the prosecution bench, Holloway looked up, his eyes meeting hers. There was no anger left in his face—only a profound, terrifying realization of how completely he had been destroyed by the woman he had once shoved a plate of dessert at.
The federal judge slammed her gavel down.
"Garrett Holloway," the judge announced, her voice echoing through the silent room. "For the charges of racketeering, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit murder, and the assassination of Federal Agent Caleb Cross, this court sentences you to two consecutive life terms in federal prison, without the possibility of parole."
Gavel slam.
Cheers and applause broke out across the courtroom. Reporters rushed out to file their stories.
Sienna stood still, watching as two federal marshals locked heavy chains around Holloway's wrists and ankles, dragging him away through the side exit.
She felt a arm wrap around her waist. Damian pulled her close against his side, resting his chin against her head.
"It's finally done, Sienna," Damian murmured softly. "The ghost can finally come home."
Sienna turned in his arms, resting her hands against his chest, looking up into his dark, beautiful eyes.
"I don't want to be a ghost anymore, Damian," she whispered. "I want to be real again."

"You are real," Damian said, his eyes filled with absolute sincerity. "You are the most real thing that has ever happened to my life."
He pulled her close and kissed her right there in the middle of the crowded courtroom, surrounded by the noise and lights of the world, making a quiet, sacred promise that neither of them would ever have to walk alone in the dark again.
