Chapter 9 - The Queen of the Estate

Six months later.

The summer sun beamed down on the sprawling estate of the Moretti family, illuminating thousands of blooming white roses, grand silk canopies, and a massive glass pavilion erected over the manicured lawns.

Over four hundred guests filled the white wooden seats—reformed syndicate leaders, city officials, local community members, and Elena’s extended family from Queens.

At the altar under a canopy of white orchids stood Aleandro Moretti.

He was dressed in a flawless midnight-blue tuxedo, looking like a king ascending his throne. Standing beside him as best man was Marco, who was smiling proudly, wearing a crisp suit without his tactical gear for the first time in ten years.

The classical violin music swelled across the lawn, transitioning into a majestic processional march.

Every guest stood up, turning toward the back of the aisle.

Walking down the aisle first was four-year-old Mia. She wore a tiny white tulle flower girl dress, but on her feet were her iconic, bright red shoes. She carried a basket of red rose petals, scattering them across the white carpet with immense pride and delight.

Then came Elena.

She was a vision of breathtaking, immortal beauty. Her ivory lace wedding gown fitted her curves perfectly, trailing five feet behind her in elegant waves. A sheer lace veil covered her face, framed by soft auburn curls pinned with pearl clips. In her hands, she held a bouquet of red roses and white lilies.

As she reached the altar, Aleandro stepped down, taking her gloved hands into his large, warm palms. He lifted her veil, his grey eyes shining with intense, unadulterated love.

"You take my breath away," he whispered softly.

Elena smiled, her hazel eyes sparkling with tears of pure joy. "You don't look so bad yourself, Don Moretti."

The priest began the holy vows.

"Do you, Aleandro Moretti, take Elena Rossi to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, till death do you part?"

Aleandro looked deep into Elena’s eyes, his voice echoing with absolute conviction. "I do. With all my heart, my soul, and my life."

"And do you, Elena Rossi, take Aleandro Moretti to be your lawful wedded husband?"

Elena squeezed his hands tightly. "I do."

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"

Aleandro pulled Elena flush against his body, dipping her back slightly as he pressed his lips to hers in a deep, sweeping, triumphant kiss. The crowd erupted into wild cheers, applause, and standing ovations!

Mia ran up to the altar, jumping up and down. "My turn! My turn!"

Aleandro laughed, pulling back from the kiss to lift Mia up into his arms, holding his wife with his other arm as the three of them turned to face their guests.

The reception lasted late into the night.

Laughter, Italian wine, and joyful music filled the grand estate. The former maid who had once walked quietly through the halls in a fifty-dollar uniform was now celebrated, respected, and adored by everyone in attendance—not as a boss’s hostage, but as the undisputed Queen of the Moretti empire.

At midnight, Aleandro led Elena out onto the quiet upper balcony overlooking the moonlit gardens.

The cool breeze blew softly through Elena’s hair as she leaned back against Aleandro’s broad chest, his arms wrapped securely around her waist, his chin resting on her shoulder.

Downstairs in the cozy master lounge, Mia was fast asleep under Marco’s watchful, protective eye.

"What are you thinking about, mia regina?" Aleandro whispered into her neck, kissing the soft skin beneath her ear.

Elena looked out over the sprawling estate, feeling the weight of the ruby ring on her finger and the warmth of the man holding her tight.

"I was thinking about the day Mia dropped that coffee tray," Elena smiled softly, turning her head to kiss his jaw. "I thought my life was over."

Aleandro smiled—a warm, radiant smile that belonged only to her.

"That coffee tray was the greatest blessing of my life," Aleandro murmured, turning her around in his arms to look down into her eyes under the starlight. "It took a three-year-old girl in red shoes to break down my walls... and bring me the woman who saved my soul."

May you like

Elena wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for one last quiet, perfect kiss under the midnight sky.

The maid had found her home. The ruthless boss had found his heart. And together, their family was untouchable forever.
