Chapter 7 - Retribution

The bloodbath inside the Moretti estate was over in fifteen minutes.
When Aleandro descended the grand staircase, his heavy boots stepping over the bodies of Valenti’s fallen hitmen, the remaining Moretti guards had fully secured the grounds. Marco stood in the center of the ruined parlor, wiping blood from a cut above his eye.
"Status," Aleandro commanded coldly, reloading his pistol with a crisp click.
"Twelve hostiles neutralized inside the house, six captured outside," Marco reported, his voice grim. "Carmine didn't come himself, Boss. He stayed back at his private docks in Brooklyn, directing the raid via satellite phone."
Aleandro’s eyes flashed with absolute, merciless fury. "Carmine thought he could attack my home. He thought he could put my wife and child in danger."
"What are your orders, Don Moretti?" Marco asked, every guard in the room standing straight, waiting for their leader’s decree.
"Mobilize every captain, every soldier, every vehicle we have," Aleandro rasped, his voice carrying the authority of an absolute sovereign. "We are going to Brooklyn. Tonight, the Valenti empire ceases to exist."
By 3:00 AM, a fleet of twenty black armored SUVs tore down the quiet industrial streets of the Brooklyn waterfront.
Carmine Valenti sat inside his private office on the top floor of a heavily fortified dockside warehouse, frantically trying to pack bags of cash into a leather briefcase. His satellite phone lay dead on his desk—every call to his estate squad had gone unanswered for an hour.
"Where are they?!" Carmine screamed at his last remaining lieutenant. "Why aren't they answering?!"
BOOM!
The massive iron security doors of the warehouse blew inward with a deafening explosion!
Smoke and fire roared through the ground floor as fifty Moretti soldiers poured into the building, systematically neutralizing Carmine’s remaining guards with lethal tactical efficiency.
Carmine dropped his briefcase, stumbling back against his oak desk in terror as heavy footsteps echoed up the steel staircase.
The heavy door to his office was kicked off its hinges.
Aleandro Moretti walked into the room. He was covered in dark body armor, holding a tactical rifle, his face smeared with soot and blood. Behind him stood Marco and a dozen elite guards.
Carmine collapsed to his knees, clutching his ivory-headed cane like a shield. "Aleandro! Wait! Please! We can talk! We can share the docks! I’ll pay for the damage to your estate! I’ll pay twenty million dollars!"
Aleandro walked slowly across the room, stopping directly in front of the trembling old man. He didn't raise his rifle. He reached down, grabbed Carmine by his pinstriped lapels, and dragged him effortlessly over to the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the dark Atlantic ocean.
"You touched my home, Carmine," Aleandro whispered, his voice dangerously soft. "You pointed weapons at my fiancée. You terrified her daughter."
"She’s just a maid!" Carmine sobbed out, tears of terror leaking down his wrinkled cheeks. "She’s nobody!"
Aleandro’s grip tightened until the fabric tore.
"She is the Queen of the Moretti family," Aleandro corrected with absolute finality. "And you are nothing."
Aleandro raised his sidearm. A single gunshot echoed over the roaring ocean waves outside.
By sunrise, the news had spread across the entire Eastern seaboard. The Valenti crime syndicate was completely dismantled. Its territories were seized, its leaders eliminated, and the remaining low-level lieutenants surrendered unconditionally to the Moretti family.
Aleandro Moretti had proven, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that no one could challenge his reign—or touch the family he had sworn to protect.
When the black SUV pulled back up the driveway of the Westchester estate at 8:00 AM, the morning sun was breaking through the clouds, painting the sky in gorgeous shades of gold and pink.
Elena stood on the front porch, wrapped in a warm wool cardigan. When she saw Aleandro step out of the car, tired, bloody, but alive, she ran down the marble steps without hesitation.
Aleandro opened his arms, catching her as she threw herself against his chest. He held her tight, burying his face in her warm auburn hair, letting out a long, shuddering breath of relief.
"It’s over, Elena," he whispered softly into her hair. "The threat is gone. You and Mia are safe forever."
May you like
Elena pulled back slightly, holding his face in her hands, looking into his clear grey eyes. "Are you okay?"
"I am now," he murmured, kissing her lips with sweet, overwhelming tenderness right there on the sunlit steps of his estate.
