Chapter 5 - The Finished Symphony
Six months later.
The warm May sunshine bathed the Hudson Valley countryside in brilliant shades of green and gold.
The historic Marlo country estate—a sprawling brick manor surrounded by ancient oak trees and blooming rose gardens—was dressed in pristine white ribbons, crystal lanterns, and thousands of fresh white lilies.
Over two hundred guests—including business leaders, local officials, family friends, and staff— sat on the lawn beneath the clear blue sky.
The grand piano sat on a raised wooden stage near the garden gazebo.
I stepped onto the velvet carpet wearing a breathtaking white silk wedding gown, holding a bouquet of lily of the valley. My hair was styled in soft curls, glowing under the afternoon light.
Standing at the altar near the gazebo was Vincent Marlo, looking breathtakingly handsome in a tailored navy tuxedo, his eyes fixed on me with a devotion so deep it took my breath away.
Walking down the aisle ahead of me was four-year-old Sophie, wearing a beautiful yellow flower-girl dress and a wreath of white roses in her hair.
She carried a small velvet pillow holding our wedding rings, alongside her favorite stuffed rabbit, Walter.
As I reached the altar, Vincent stepped forward, taking my hand in his, his fingers warm and steady.
"You are my anchor, Clara," Vincent said during our vows, his deep voice carrying clearly across the quiet garden. "In the darkest storm of my life, you and Sophie brought the light back. I promise to cherish, protect, and love you both for every remaining day of my life."
"And I promise to stand beside you, Vincent," I replied, tears of joy streaming down my face. "To share your joy, lift your burdens, and build a home filled with music and peace."

Sophie giggled loudly, jumping up and down beside us, grabbing both of our hands.
