Chapter 10 - A Life Restored

That evening, as a brilliant pink and gold sunset painted the sky over the Hudson River, Lorenzo and Isabella sat together on the swing bench at the edge of the estate cliff.
Isabella leaned her head against his shoulder, her fingers intertwined with his, her wedding ring glittering brightly in the dying sunlight.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked softly, looking up at his handsome, serene face.
"I was thinking about the day Emma walked into my study," Lorenzo replied, turning his face to kiss her forehead. "A three-year-old girl with a stuffed rabbit, telling the most dangerous man in New York that his dead wife was hiding behind a train station."
Isabella laughed—a light, musical sound that filled Lorenzo's heart with absolute peace. "She was very brave."
"She saved us," Lorenzo said softly. "She brought me out of the dark."
Isabella reached up, touching his cheek softly. "We're home now, Lorenzo. No more shadows. No more secrets."

In the distance, the soft, comforting sound of Bruno's deep bark echoed across the warm night air—a sound of protection, of home, and of a love that had defied death itself to remain unbroken forever.
