He was loyal.

Thomas fired.
Dominic moved.
The bullet struck the wall.
Evelyn dropped.
Claire screamed.
Thomas fled.
Dominic chased him.
They reached the garage.
Thomas escaped in one of Dominic's vehicles.
The betrayal was devastating.
“He had access to everything.”
Dominic stared at the empty driveway.
Evelyn stepped beside him.
“Not everything.”
“What?”
“You still have me.”
He looked at her.
Something softened.
She smiled faintly.
“You're not as alone as you think.”
The investigation continued.
Thomas had helped Holloway track them.
He had given away locations.
He had leaked security schedules.
He had also taken the final ledger pages.
They found him at the hospital.
Kline was there.
Holloway too.
Grant Holloway was nothing like the monster Evelyn had imagined.
He was charming.
Elegant.
Silver-haired.
He looked like a philanthropist.
He smiled at her.
“You've caused a great deal of trouble.”
“You killed my father.”
“I didn't.”
“You ordered it.”
“I ordered a cleanup.”
The words were cold.
Dominic stepped forward.
Holloway smiled.
“You're just like Vincent.”
“No.”
Dominic shook his head.
“I ended what he started.”
Holloway laughed.
“Did you?”
He held up documents proving that several legitimate businesses Dominic owned had been financed using money linked to the medical network.
Dominic stared.
Evelyn understood.
“This could destroy him.”
“Yes.”
Holloway smiled.
“And that is why you will sign the trust over to me.”
“What trust?”
“Your family trust.”
Evelyn froze.
Her mother's old trust.
The one tied to Gabriel's inheritance.
It contained legal control of the evidence.
Holloway wanted access.
If Evelyn signed, everything would disappear.
She refused.
Holloway ordered Thomas to take her.
Dominic fought.
The room erupted into chaos.
Evelyn escaped through a side door.
She found a hidden stairway.
At the bottom was a storage room.
Inside, she found a child.
A little girl.
Alive.
Thomas's daughter.
The girl whispered:
“Help me.”
Evelyn understood.
Thomas had lied.
His daughter hadn't died.
Holloway had used her as leverage.
Evelyn freed her.
Thomas arrived.
He saw his daughter.
He collapsed.
He had been serving Holloway for years.
Now he saw what the man had done.
Thomas turned against him.
He led Evelyn and the child out.
Holloway escaped.
Kline was arrested.
Thomas surrendered.
And the full ledger was recovered.
For the first time, the truth was complete.
The public scandal was enormous.
Hospitals.
Pharmacies.
Political offices.
Financial institutions.
Everything connected.
Dominic released his records.
He admitted what his family had done.
He accepted responsibility for what he could control.
He dissolved the remaining criminal network.
He sold several businesses.
Evelyn stayed beside him.
Not because she needed protection.
Because she believed in what he was trying to become.
One night, they sat together in silence.
Dominic said:
“You don't have to stay.”
“I know.”
“You could leave.”
“I know.”
“Then why don't you?”
She looked at him.
“Because you stopped asking me to stay.”
He smiled.
“That might be the first smart thing I've done.”
She kissed him.
Outside, rain tapped the windows.
Neither knew that Holloway had one final move.
He had gone after Evelyn's hospital.
He planned to destroy every surviving piece of evidence.
