Chapter 6 - A New Legacy

One year later.
The spring sun shone brightly over a grand stone estate in Upstate New York, far from the noise and shadows of Manhattan. The rolling green lawns were lined with blooming cherry blossoms, and the air smelled of fresh rain and sweet grass.
A large outdoor terrace overlooking the lake was filled with guests, laughter, and light music.
Celeste Ward stood near the glass doors, holding a glass of champagne, chatting pleasantly with Dominic, who was dressed in a sleek suit, keeping a relaxed guard over the property.
Dante had successfully finalized his corporate transition, completely divesting from the old syndicate networks and turning the Moretti name into a respected, legitimate legacy.
Standing near the edge of the terrace, dressed in an elegant white silk gown, was Emma. Her broken arm was long healed, her skin radiant, her eyes sparkling with vibrant life and happiness.
Dante stepped up behind her, wrapping his arms gently around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
“What are you thinking about, Mrs. Moretti?” Dante whispered into her ear, sliding his fingers over the platinum wedding ring on her hand.
Emma turned in his arms, resting her hands against his broad chest, looking up into the handsome face of the man who had saved her life.
“I was thinking about the waitress who spilled wine on your table,” Emma smiled softly, her heart overflowing with love. “She was so terrified of the world.”
“And now?” Dante asked, a rare, breathtaking smile illuminating his face.

“Now,” Emma whispered, leaning up to kiss his lips gently, “she is married to the strongest man in New York, and she isn't afraid of anything anymore.”
Dante held her close, capturing her lips under the golden afternoon sun, while the quiet lake reflected the clear, bright sky—a sky that held no more shadows, no more pain, and only the promise of an everlasting, unbreakable love.
