Months passed, and the cold winter turned into a crisp, radiant spring along the coastline.
Elena began her studies at Columbia University, commuting daily from the Costa estate in an armored sedan driven by private guards. Despite her intense schedule, she returned to the estate every evening, where Vincent was always waiting for her.
Their relationship blossomed in the quiet space between his dangerous world and her healing one.
Vincent, who had spent his entire adult life surrounded by cold ambition, greed, and violence, found himself captivated by Elena’s pure heart, sharp intellect, and fierce independence. One rainy Friday night, while studying in the estate's glass conservatory overlooking the crashing ocean waves, Elena felt a warm jacket placed over her shoulders.
She turned around to see Vincent standing behind her, holding two glasses of sparkling wine.
"You're studying too late," Vincent said, a subtle smile touching his lips.
"I have a surgery exam on Monday," Elena smiled back, setting her medical textbook down. "I have to be perfect."
Vincent sat beside her on the plush velvet sofa, handing her a glass. "You are already perfect."
Elena looked at him, her cheeks warming. "Vincent... people at the university talk about you. They say you are a dangerous man."
"I am a dangerous man, Elena," Vincent admitted candidly, his dark eyes locking onto hers. "I rule a world where mercy is seen as weakness. But with you... I don't want to be the Boss. I just want to be the man who keeps you safe."
