Chapter 9 - The Epilogue of Iron and Gold

Two years later, the grand ballroom of the newly restored Sterling-Lane Hotel in downtown Harrow Falls was filled to absolute capacity.
It wasn't a high-society gathering driven by cruelty, fake smiles, and fragile alliances. It was the annual gala for the Sterling-Lane Foundation, an organization dedicated to urban revitalization, animal rescue, and legal defense for working-class individuals trapped by corporate abuse.
Standing at the podium on the elevated stage was Molly Lane.
She wore a breathtaking, custom-tailored emerald silk gown that commanded the entire room, her posture immaculate, her dark hair cascading in soft waves over her shoulders.
Seated in the front row, wearing a tailored black suit, was Victor Sterling. And resting his massive, fawn-colored head right across Victor’s polished leather shoes was Brutus, sleeping peacefully through the applause.
Further back in the room, tucked neatly into the corners, stood Vance and a dozen Vanguard operatives, ensuring the sanctuary of the evening remained absolute.
And somewhere in upstate New York, inside the secure perimeter of a federal correctional facility, a disgraced former socialite with a permanent limp spent her evenings scrubbing cafeteria floors—reminded every single day of what happens when you kick someone you thought was a nobody, completely unaware of the storm waiting just outside the door.

Molly looked out across the glittering sea of faces, smiled warmly, and began to speak.
The city of Harrow Falls belonged to the strong. But tonight, it belonged to the girl who had refused to look away.
