Chapter 3 - My Secret Uncle Tried to Kidnap Me at the Hospital—But Lorenzo Finally Broke Nineteen Years of Silence to Save His DaughterThe hospital became chaos.

Security guards moved through the corridors.

Doctors locked doors.

Patients were evacuated.

Adrien grabbed my hand.

“Stay behind me.”

“I can walk.”

“I know.”

“Then stop dragging me.”

His mouth twitched.

“Fine.”

We reached the stairwell.

Then a gunshot echoed.

Adrien pushed me down.

A bullet struck the wall.

“Stay here.”

“No.”

“Claraara.”

“I'm not leaving.”

He stared at me.

“Then stay behind me.”

The attackers came from both sides.

Security engaged.

One man reached us.

Adrien fought him.

I saw the man's sleeve.

Black rose tattoo.

My mother had once mentioned it.

I shouted,

“Adrien!”

He turned.

The attacker raised his gun.

Lorenzo's voice exploded down the hall.

“Enough!”

Everyone froze.

My father had walked out of his room.

He hadn't spoken loudly in nineteen years.

Now his voice echoed through the hospital.

The attackers stared.

Lorenzo lifted his hand.

Security moved.

The men surrendered.

Adrien stared at his father.

“You shouldn't have done that.”

Lorenzo looked at me.

Then at him.

“I will not lose my daughter again.”

My throat tightened.

The news spread immediately.

Lorenzo Blackwood had spoken.

For the first time in nineteen years.

Because of me.

The hospital attack exposed everything.

Silas was officially named as the mastermind.

He had been controlling parts of the Blackwood empire for years.

He had manipulated business rivals.

He had arranged assassinations.

He had concealed my existence.

And he had been trying to trigger the inheritance clause.

But there was another problem.

Someone inside the Blackwood family was helping him.

Adrien believed it was one of the board members.

Lorenzo disagreed.

He wrote a single name.

Henri.

I stared.

“The maître d'?”

Lorenzo nodded.

My stomach dropped.

Henri had worked at Loven for years.

He had known who I was.

He had deliberately placed me near Lorenzo that night.

Not by accident.

He had wanted Lorenzo to recognize me.

Why?

Because Silas needed the inheritance activated.

But the plan had gone wrong.

Lorenzo had spoken.

He had remembered my mother.

And now everything was exposed.

We returned to New York.

The Blackwood mansion became a fortress.

I stayed there because leaving was more dangerous.

Adrien gave me a security room.

“I can protect you here.”

“I don't need a room.”

“You do.”

“I need answers.”

“You'll get them.”

“When?”

“Soon.”

I looked at him.

“You're my brother.”

He froze.

I wasn't sure whether I should say it.

But I did.

“Are you?”

He stared.

Then nodded.

“Yes.”

The word was quiet.

“I didn't know you existed.”

“Neither did I.”

“You're angry.”

“Yes.”

“At me?”

“No.”

“At myself?”

“No.”

He looked away.

“At everyone who kept us apart.”

That was the first time he looked less like a billionaire.

And more like my brother.

That night, I found Lorenzo in the library.

He was writing.

He handed me a notebook.

Inside were words.

I searched for you.

For thirteen years.

Then I believed you were dead.

I started crying.

He touched my hand.

I whispered,

“Why didn't you speak?”

He looked down.

Then wrote:

Because the last words I heard from your mother were that you were gone.

I cried harder.

He wrote again.

Silence was the only thing I knew how to survive.

I sat beside him.

“You don't have to be silent anymore.”

He smiled.

Then, slowly—

“Thank you.”

His voice was weak.

But real.

That evening, Adrien entered.

“We found Henri.”

“Where?”

“Loven.”

My heart sank.

“Is he alive?”

“Yes.”

“Then let's talk to him.”

Adrien shook his head.

“You shouldn't.”

“I need to know.”

He looked at me.

“Fine.”

We went to Loven.

Henri was sitting in a private room.

His confidence was gone.

He looked at me.

“You.”

“Yes.”

“You weren't supposed to notice.”

“Notice what?”

“The word.”

“Coraggio.”

He laughed bitterly.

“Your mother taught Lorenzo that word.”

“How do you know?”

“I was there.”

I froze.

Henri confessed.

Years ago, he had worked as Lorenzo's driver.

He had helped Maria escape.

He had been paid by Lorenzo's father to make her disappear.

But later he regretted it.

He had kept track of her.

He knew about me.

Silas discovered the secret.

Henri was forced to cooperate.

“So you put me at Table One.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“To see if Lorenzo would recognize you.”

“He did.”

“Not immediately.”

“Then why did he speak?”

Henri looked at me.

“Because your mother had taught him one word.”

Coraggio.

He knew it would trigger something.

But he hadn't expected Lorenzo to recognize me.

I asked,

“What does Silas want now?”

Henri looked frightened.

“He knows about the trust.”

“How long?”

“Tonight.”

I looked at Adrien.

“What happens tonight?”

May you like

Henri whispered,

“He intends to take the mansion.”
